Our purpose at Saltwater Freshwater Arts Alliance is to position Aboriginal Art and Culture as the foundation for the long-term social, economic and environmental development of the Mid North Coast Aboriginal communities.  Our Arts & Skills development workshops are one way that we work with our communities to achieve this goal.

Projects

In 2009 and 2010, we ran projects in 9 communities, where over fifty people participated in  Stitching Memories Workshops, Weaving Workshops,  and Weaving Masterclasses.

As a result, exhibitions were held at the Glasshouse in Port Macquarie and at the inaugural Saltwater Freshwater Festival in Coffs Harbour.  More work will be on display at the 2011 Festival in Port Macquarie.
